Surgery Day

It's finally time. My gastric sleeve surgery is Tuesday the 16th. After six months of jumping through hoops I can get started on living my healthier life. It's going to be a bit rough at first but it'll get better once I get used to it. I'll just be glad to get it done at last.

You mean jumping thru hoops didn't help you lose weight? Well so much for that going into my exercise routine. jk I hope everything goes great.

Hope all goes well and you have a fast recovery..Reading this makes me wish after amost a year of classes and appointments I hadn't backed out of doing It..

Stripes, did I say hoops? I meant hoop. As out of shape as I am I could barely jump and fit through just one. LoL

Seriously, though, in 6 months of "weight management" I lost 20lbs. That's not too shabby. But at that rate in order to lose the weight I need to it'd take me about 3 years. And that's no joke when you weigh 300+ lbs. With the surgery it takes around 18 months on average.

The surgeon said hopefully after about 2 months I may be able to quit taking all my meds for diabetes, cholesterol, and depression. But even if not that fast I should get to that point eventually.

And I'm very lucky I still have great insurance via cobra. All I paid today was a $15 copay. The surgery is covered 100%. The receptionist was shocked. Most people have to pay a lot more than that even with insurance. So I'm thankful for that being out of work and all.
